Overview of popular Game Shows

History of the game

This game originated from the original Dutch TV show called Miljoenenjacht, in which contestants competed for €200,000 (equivalent to more than 5,000,000 CZK). In the USA, the first episode of this TV game was broadcast in 2005 under the name Deal or No Deal. Gradually, other TV stations began to buy its rights, and it was broadcast on Czech television by TV Prima under the name “Ber nebo neber”. In 2009, the company Playtech, together with the production company Endemol Shine Group (under whose direction the game Deal or No Deal was created), created slot machines, scratch cards, and bingo named the same. Evolution Gaming then created the Live version, which players can still enjoy today in many online casinos.

How to play Deal or No Deal Live

Before players get to the briefcase selection and gradual uncovering of the remaining ones, they must first qualify for this final round. Even these are definitely not to be dismissed and bring players a lot of fun and a lot of bets. After completing them, they are then rewarded with 16 briefcases, from which they choose their favorite and negotiate its buyout with the banker.

First qualifying round

In this round, with the English name “The qualifying round”, a three-reel wheel resembling a bank vault lock with three gold segments is featured. The task of the players is to align all these segments within a set time limit, displayed in the center of the wheel, and thus advance to the next level. Each spin is conditioned by placing a bet, the amount of which is chosen by the players themselves. The higher the bet they place, the higher their reward in the briefcase, ranging from 75 to 500 times their bet. In this game, players can also choose a easier level, and in that case, spin with only one segment. This difficulty does not affect the resulting values in the briefcase, but the bet is much more expensive. Once players manage to align all three gold segments, the bank vault unlocks, and they proceed to the second round.

Second round of the game

After unlocking the vault, the level called “The top-up round” begins for the players, in which a wheel of fortune appears instead of the vault. It contains 15 fields with different values. In its center, a timer runs, continuing from the previous level and counting down the remaining time for the players. The principle of this game is to increase the value of the briefcase through wheel spins. Players place bets on each spin, and their win gradually adds up to the highest value in the briefcase. First, they choose a specific bet amount they want to place, and then values of five to fifty times the bet appear on the wheel. The spun wheel then stops at one of these values and multiplies the player’s bet. The result is added to the most expensive briefcase. Here, players can bet as long as they have remaining time. When the timer runs out, they move on to the final phase of the game.

Opening the briefcases

In English, “The briefcase game” is a game with a moderator and an assistant who accompanies them. There are a total of 16 briefcases, which contain various amounts of money, similar to the TV version. Players then choose one briefcase, the contents of which are unknown to them until the last moment. The banker (in the Live version, the system) then offers an amount to buy the briefcase from the player. In each round, the moderator’s assistant gradually opens the displayed briefcases and reveals their contents. In the first round, they open three briefcases, and then always four briefcases at a time. The buyout amount for the selected briefcase constantly changes based on the values left in the closed briefcases. Players usually have only a few seconds to decide. They can accept the banker’s buyout offer by choosing “Deal” or reject it by choosing “No Deal”.
