Nowadays, bingo has many different forms, so even players with very refined tastes can enjoy it. To be successful, you cannot rely solely on luck. Speed and observation play a crucial role in finding the right result. Even if these are not your strongest points, bingo can be a great way to hone your skills and abilities.
The roots of bingo go back to Renaissance Italy around 1530. During this period, typical figures like knights or priests were set aside, and entrepreneurs were on the rise. The wealthy bourgeoisie enabled a transformation of culture and lifestyle throughout Italy, leading to the creation of many unique works in all fields. During this time, the bingo game, then called “Il Gioco del Lotto d’Italia,” became very popular. In the following years, it spread to neighboring cities on the European continent, and in the second half of the 18th century, it reached the newly established United States of America. Here, it primarily entertained wealthy entrepreneurs and rarely penetrated outside these circles. It was on the agricultural market where it got its current name when one player shouted “Bingo!” upon a successful win. Since then, organizer Edwin S. Lowie has promoted it solely under this name.
The game of bingo is designed for multiple players who compete against each other. Each player receives a card with numbers that match the numbers in the draw. The numbers are randomly drawn and called out so that each player can find them on their card. The goal is to find all the numbers in the table before the other players and announce your win by loudly shouting Bingo! Each bingo card contains numbers from 1 to 75 arranged in a table with 25 squares. In the first column under the letter “B” appear numbers from 1 to 15, in the next under “I” 16 – 30, followed by “N” 31 – 45, “G” 46 – 60, and finally “O” 61 – 75. The middle space is usually a blank space, called free space, which is always considered filled. Depending on the difficulty, players have 1 – 5 bingo cards, where they try to find the drawn numbers as quickly as possible in 5 columns and 5 rows. In the British version, you can encounter a table with 27 squares and 90 numbers in the draw.
The rules may vary in each hall, so you should always familiarize yourself with them before starting the game. In some cases, your task is to gradually mark or cross off all 25 numbers in the table. At other times, you cross off lines, parallels, or diagonals. Less common variants may require marking squares in the shape of a T or L, squares around the perimeter, or just in the four corners. The drawing is conducted by a person who manually draws a number from the drum or a generator. It is important that they do not see the numbers, ensuring the selection is completely random. Increasingly, numbers are generated automatically using various applications or mechanically, similar to the lottery. The drawn number must always be announced loudly. For better clarity, each ball with a number is marked with a color and letter according to the column it belongs to.
Although it is a social game very popular among seniors, it is also gaining popularity among younger generations and small children. Besides numbers, various pictures can be placed in the table on the bingo card, making the game suitable for the youngest players. Variations of bingo are also very popular at various social events and celebrations, where certain words can be used instead of numbers. Due to its great popularity, the game can be played both online and offline. Since bingo is much less widespread in our country than in England or the USA, you will only encounter it in specialized halls and casinos, whereas abroad, game nights are a social event organized by clubs or gaming enthusiasts. Its version, which you can easily download to your mobile or play online on various internet portals, is much more accessible.
According to your preferences, you can play bingo online just for fun without having to deposit your own money. However, if you are tempted by adrenaline and adventure, you can use portals offering cash prizes. In this case, you purchase the required number of tickets and start playing. By meeting certain conditions, you can also win a Bingo jackpot, which increases your potential winnings. You can also play various bingo variants modified specifically for online casinos.
The social game bingo can be freely adapted to players, so it is suitable for all age groups. Small children, demanding players, and seniors will all enjoy it.
In the Czech Republic, bingo can be played in specialized halls and casinos, online via a mobile app, or on internet portals.
