There are countless internet marketplaces for game skins nowadays. The competition is huge, and it’s no wonder that some platforms lag behind others. Today, we will look at the website CSDeals and how it compares to others.
The CSDeals skin marketplace has been operating in the realm of cosmetic items (skins) for games since 2017. It has received a lot of positive feedback from its users, but is it justified? Compared to other platforms, its traffic is not very high (200,000 visits per month) and the overall look of the site is very outdated and sometimes confusing.
On CSDeals, we find a wide range of game skins for Counter Strike 2, DOTA 2, Rust, and Team Fortress 2, but extra marketplace features like price history display are not available. The platform also lost points with us for customer support, which can only be contacted via email and for not disclosing the operator of the entire marketplace (we couldn’t find them anywhere on the website). Additionally, it offers too few deposit and withdrawal methods. Some review websites rate this skin marketplace four stars out of five, and we don’t understand why. For peace of mind, we cannot recommend CSDeals. It lags too far behind its competitors and offers nothing that would convince us to give it a positive rating.
You can only register using your Steam account. Subsequently, the site will ask for your contact email address, to which a verification message with a link will be sent. We also recommend entering your Steam Trade URL right away, as you won’t be able to make any trades without it. To enable the sale of items, you also need to go through verification. There are two ways to do this. If you want to sell items for real money (euro, US dollar), you must go through the KYC (identity verification) process. If you don’t mind selling items “only” for Bitcoin cryptocurrency, you can choose the simpler verification method: via your mobile phone and the Trulioo app. After spending or earning €1,000, you will still have to complete the KYC process, so we recommend doing it right away.
The only known bonus is related to skin trading. The operator offers 26% extra trade tokens when purchasing them. However, you can only use these tokens when trading skins with the site itself, and the remaining balance cannot be sold back.
Deposit methods are very limited to only two options: payment using payment cards/bank transfer or Bitcoin transfer. Withdrawals of real money are the same, either you can transfer them to your bank account or use cryptocurrency withdrawal (only Bitcoin is offered).
The CSDeals offer covers all four main titles from Valve, in which cosmetic items can be used. These are Counter Strike 2, DOTA 2, Rust, and Team Fortress 2. However, we fear this is the only positive aspect of the entire platform. The classic marketplace lags behind other similarly focused sites. There is no display of historical price development or detailed viewing of the offered skin without having to launch the game. The number of skins offered is high, but navigating the seriously flawed site design takes a lot of patience. You can also use skin trading directly with the site (a list of its trade bots is publicly available). Here you can buy Trade Tokens and use the only offered bonus. The last feature is selling skins, which allows you to list an item on the marketplace. A nice touch could be the community chat, which is implemented directly into the site, but it is mainly used to promote trade offers. A place intended for discussion has thus become an advertising platform, which is a shame.
The site does not offer any VIP program.
We were unable to find the exact owner and/or operator of the CSDeals skin marketplace.
The CSDeals marketplace does not offer any mobile app.
Communication with customer support can only be established via email. The site itself also recommends contacting via direct message on the X platform (formerly Twitter) in case of need for a quick response, but according to some community comments, one still waits at least 24 hours for feedback in this case as well.
