Euromiliony lottery offers one of the largest jackpots among all lotteries
In the Euromiliony game, players have a chance twice a week to play for tens to hundreds of millions of crowns. The objective is to correctly guess 7 numbers out of 35 from the draw pool and 1 additional number out of five. The potential winnings depend on the number of correctly guessed numbers and are distributed across 10 prize tiers. The more numbers the player guesses, the higher their prize – even with a lower bet. A player wins the minimum prize if they guess at least 2 out of 35 numbers and 1 additional number. As a bonus, players can also join the Eurošance game.
In the Czech Republic, this lottery has been played since 2003, when it replaced the 5 out of 40 game. In 2013, the additional game Eurošance was added. A similar version of this lottery is known worldwide under the name EuroMillions, which started in 2004 in the UK, France, and Spain. As its popularity grew, it expanded later that year to Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Switzerland. It is still played in these countries today, though the gameplay and rules may vary slightly.

The easiest way to check if your ticket has won is by using the Sazka mobile app. Just take a photo of your bet confirmation and the system will evaluate it within seconds. Results can also be found on Sazka’s official website, where the winning numbers for other games are also published after each draw, or you can verify your ticket in person at any sales location with a Sazka terminal.
You can fill in 1 to 9 columns on one ticket with numbers from 1 to 35. Players pick a total of 7 numbers plus one additional number from 1 to 5. Numbers can be selected manually or via the random pick option, where the computer makes the selection. The base price for one completed column (one bet) is €1. Players can also join the Eurošance game, which costs the same as the Euromiliony bet. A fully filled ticket thus costs €10.
To play, players fill in 1 to 9 game columns either online or on a paper ticket by selecting 7 numbers from 1 to 35 from the first draw pool. From the second pool, they choose 1 additional number from 1 to 5. Players can also choose a system bet, which creates all possible combinations from their selected numbers, increasing their chance of winning. In this case, they only fill in the first column with 8 to 13 numbers and 1 to 5 numbers in the second pool.
If players don’t have lucky numbers in mind, they can go with a random tip, where the computer generates the selected number of digits for them. The probability of winning is the same whether you use your own numbers or random ones. Before confirming the ticket, they can also decide to participate in the additional Eurošance game, where the result is determined by the ticket number (paper ticket) or a system-generated code (online play). A confirmed ticket is valid only for the next draw, but it can be subscribed for up to 16 draws in advance.

The Euromiliony lottery is drawn twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday evening live at Sazka’s Studio Pokrok. A recording of the draw is available online, and the drawn numbers from both pools are published shortly after. At retail locations, players can purchase a paper ticket no later than 7:00 PM on the day of the draw. If they choose to play online, bets can be placed right up until the draw begins.

In the first pool, the most frequently drawn lucky number is 22. On the other hand, the least frequently drawn is its neighbor, 21. In the second pool, the number 2 leads the chart of the most frequent, while 5 is drawn the least often. If players want to increase their chance of winning, they should not take these statistics lightly.
This game features a total of 10 prize tiers, with the lowest prize being €5 for correctly guessing 2 numbers plus 1 from the second pool. The winnings increase in the higher tiers and can reach tens of millions of crowns. To hit the jackpot, players must correctly guess all 7 numbers including the additional number. Without the additional number, they can still win the second-highest prize, which is also in the millions, as shown in the table below. In the additional Eurošance game, players can win up to €20,000.
Prize tier | Number of correct guesses | Average prize |
1. | 7 + 1 | €3,630,000 |

If the winning ticket is a paper ticket purchased at a Sazka retail location, players can claim their winnings at retail outlets within one year from the date of the winning draw.
If the ticket was submitted online, players can collect their winnings in cash at any sales location, but up to a daily limit of €200, or transfer any amount from their gaming account to their bank account. Bank transfers are usually processed the next business day (in case of higher amounts, this may take longer).
The highest-ever win in this lottery exceeded €4,920,000. The second-largest win was just under €1,200,000, and the third-largest was just over €680,000. In the past 12 months, 535,325 winners shared an incredible €2,790,000, with the top prize being €320,000. Since 2015, the most lucky winners have come from the South Moravian Region, where total winnings have exceeded €5,450,000 to date.
Players can participate in this lottery online on Sazka’s website, via the mobile app, or by purchasing a paper ticket at any point of sale with a Sazka terminal. The winning numbers from previous draws are published both online and at retail outlets. Drawings take place every Tuesday and Saturday evening. On the website, players can also watch a replay of the draw.
The method of payout depends on whether players joined the game online or bought a paper ticket at a Sazka terminal. They have 365 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

Lottery winnings are subject to tax like other types of income. As of January 1, 2024, the exemption limit for income from gambling games has been reduced from the original one million to €2,000. From now on, all winnings exceeding this threshold will be reduced by a 15% withholding tax. However, players are not required to report or pay this tax themselves, as the lottery company will deduct the tax and pay it on their behalf.
Individual winnings are not aggregated within a single tax period, which means each win is taxed separately. So, if during one tax period you win €1,600, €1,200 and €1,600 on three different lottery tickets (a total of €4,400), the winnings will not be taxed, since each individual win remains under the €2,000 threshold.
